RENATO MARTINELLI

Renato Martinelli was born in 1933 in Sandrà, a little town very close to the lake of Garda, near Verona. He leaves his home in search for job in postwar Milan. When he was only thirteen he submits to a cut and tailor model making school where, in very short time and with excellent results, he gets a degree obtaining the “Golden Scissors” prestigious award.

He met Ines, his wife, who was already working, first in a tailoring firm in Brugherio near Monza and then in a dressmaker’s workroom in the centre of Milan. Mother of Renato’s three sons, Giovanni, Italo and Alessandro, Ines has always been near her husband with loyalty in his incredible human and professional adventure, but above all she led her sons – very rarely with the words and always with her example – in the exciting way to adult age.

Together with one of his brothers they start up a tailor’s in Lomellina street, very close to the beating heart of Milan. Success is at hand: famous writers and other V.I.P.S. attend the craft shop and the Group will find its way to a continuous growth. From craftshop to industrial firm, in the middle Sixties Martinelli family returns back to its birthplace where now the firms have their seat.
In middle 2003 Renato Martinelli receives from the President of Italian Republic the award of “Commendatore” and in a very few, particularly intense and active years, also the first grandchildren come to bring joy to Renato and Ines’ family… The history of Martinelli family goes on.
